Iran's transit ۵۷ percent up in ۲۰۲۴

Tehran, August ۱۲, ۲۰۲۴ (MRUD NEWS)—Transit through Iran's territory has been ۱۷.۸ million tons in ۲۰۲۳, informed Mehrdad Bazrpash, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development. The upward trend continues in ۲۰۲۴ with ۵۷ percent growth in transit records. In ۲۰۲۲, the record showed ۱۲.۹ million tons. Similarly, based on the performance report of the PMO, the sea trade and transit recorded ۱۰ and ۴۹ percent growth respectively in ۲۰۲۴ compared to the same period in the last year. According to Safaei, the managing director of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), the sea transit has reached ۱۶ million tons in ۲۰۲۳ compared to ۲۰۲۲.
